What we did
This project involved far more than replacing the decking. The existing pine deck had reached the end of its life, so we removed it and prepared the structure before installing beautiful premium Vitex hardwood decking.
To future-proof the deck and improve the space underneath, we also removed the original steel beams and installed new hot-dip galvanised structural beams to provide long-term strength and support. While the beams were exposed, we installed a new Colorsteel ceiling beneath the deck, creating a clean, dry area that can now be used year-round for storage, parking and everyday use.
The finished result is a durable hardwood deck with a fresh modern appearance, backed by a stronger structure and a far more functional space underneath that adds real value to the home.
